hi apologies if this is the wrong place to post this We are trying to buy a house to split for 2 families to live in Just wanted some opinions do you think 110 metres squared is big enough? It would be 3 bed 2 bath Cheers
With the two families, how many adults and how many kids? I would find it too small, especially if kids are involved. My wife and I live in a house 6 times that size (660 sqm). Yep, it is a big house for 2 adults but we like our space.
My current house is around 100 square metres and was home to a family of around 8. One bathroom. Very small bedrooms. The answer is that it depends on the families and their expectations and culture. It could be experienced as lovely and cosy with lots of friendly interaction. Or it might be experienced as noisy and crowded. It's all in the interpretation.
Sorry whole house is 220 we would split so each family would have 3 bed 2 baths over 110 internal metres squared and Yes over 2 levels Should have made my first post clearer! Wow @Joynz 8 people great effort I think we could share whole house as is for a while but eventually would like our own space I appreciate your effort to answer thanks
My house is about 100m2 - 2 decent sized bedrooms, 1 small bedroom, small bathroom, open plan kitchen / dining / lounge, separate laundry. The use of space is OK but could be better. Space currently wasted in the laundry and poorly designed kitchen. Bathroom is really only ensuite size. It's OK for 2 of us, but entertaining is challenging, we had 8 people in the house on Sunday & it was full (weather wasn't good enough for us to eat outside but the kids were outside for much of the day). So....kind of depends what you need / want / do. A well designed 110m2 would be OK, but entertaining options would be limited IMO, which only matters if that's important to you
My place is only about 120sq.m internal (3x2). I think it's plenty but we're only a family of 3 humans + 3 pets that think they're humans.
