Silicon Valley is a series about a web startup in, well, ... I watched series 1 on the way back to Australia after working for a web startup as an intern in Medellin. Although the premise is over the top, the series wasn't bad, and there were certainly recognisable aspects. They were also showing The Internship, a movie about two older guys serving an internship for Google - another situation I identified with. The movie wasn't so good though, and a plot just a variation on other movies (like the much better Spare Parts which I saw on another flight).
I have also seen it. Great show. Just remember with your criticisms: If you work in the industry a show is about aspects of it will irritate you, can't be avoided. You need to look past it and turn off your ******** metre. Doctors and nurses roll their eyes at ER, lawyers can't stand Law & Order and cops get irritated with cop shows.
I keep meaning to watch this. I love Mike Judge who created it. I've been waiting for the DVDs to come on say at JB HIFI. I don't think it's on Netflix. Ps. Check out his movie Idiocracy. It's kind of like a live action Futurama.
