Signing QLD documents in NSW?

    See above - not according to the QLD legislation.

    This is the article that created the issue.

    My understanding is that the article was wrong. NSW JPs are empowered under the Land Title Act 1994 (Qld), therefore it is not necessary to have powers in the NSW legislation also.

    As mentioned, the above is irrelevant if the bank won’t accept it.

    A quote from the more recent document:
    "Following changes to the Oaths Act 1900 made by the NSW Government, NSW JPs are authorised to witness the execution of other interstate documents, such as land titles documents from another State or Territory, where this is also permitted by the law of the other state of territory."

    So the NSW legislation was amended and NSW JPs can now witness QLD mortgage docs (and other land title docs)
