PM insists states are working together with federals but it looks like PM is over-ruling states' decisions based on Australia being 'At War' with Coronavirus (a little bit encouraged by 60 Minutes blonde??).
I'm sure there's going to be a lot of arguing tomorrow, once the journos get onto it.

    Ok fair enough,
But how does that relate to not limiting to non essential services?

The state leaders this arvo put out statements about closures but the definition of what is closing has since changed.

Yeah, masks, safety specs, gloves the works.... I'd be worried if I was doing their work with someone potentially coughing in your face.... I'd go a full face visor....

Whats the idea with keeping kids at school ?
Is it so they can all infect each other and then infect their parents .

    I don't know
    I think its absolutely nuts,
My guess is that they are banking on the fact that kids aren't infected easily, and that having kids home=less workers in the workforce for necessary services

These kida could all be carrying it and spreading it around at school and then coming home to the parents

Told today at Live speech by our government no spread from very young kids to parents (may change in the future - spreading wrong disinformation at this stage)
Instead watch this video full of advice to minimize the spread, save and help medical staff, save LIVES and LIVELIHOODS!
I will be following these guidelines and catching up on on my projects as well as gardening!
Read English subtitles to understand and pass it on if you find it useful!

One week in - my first day at home with out a car (junior got her P's Friday so was busting to drive to school) - and I'm bored.

Lots I could be doing but motivation will be my biggest challenge

VIC/NSW have done what is IMHO the correct thing - only kids whose parents are in essential services and/or may infect grandparents etc should be at school. All others to be kept at home with (work at home) parents.

This reduces the density of kids at schools, gives teachers and easier time etc.

'Professor Murphy [political appointee, bureaucrat] said on Insiders there had been very few reports of symptomatic infection in children and while they might spread it in schools "it also creates a herd immunity".

Bill Bowtell [world renown immunologist], an adjunct professor at the University of NSW, said China had managed to control the spread of COVID-19 using strict containment measures, including the closure of schools.'

Which is fine - as long as they don't spread it to anyone who doesn't have a serious symptomatic infection

I've heard you have a few crosswords from time to time.

Do you do cryptic crosswords? If so, there's some apps; if not it's a good chance to learn.

hahahahaha - not into cryptic but admire those who do. Like my world to be a little more straightforward and organised ... not that it always is

If I have a few crosswords, I make sure that they're not cryptic, on room for interpretation ;)

Yep. The point I was making was that last Sunday Hunt, Morrison and Murphy all stated individually that we need to build a herd immunity and therefore be proportionate in our responses (ie - no/limited restrictions on public gathering, not closing schools, etc...) But yesterday and today they are claiming that they have never supported the discredited herd immunity strategy despite the video evidence to the contrary. At least Boris admitted the error of adopting the strategy and moved on.
