I just spoke to a builder mate who said he believes construction is being classified as an essential service in Vic.

I hope so - because otherwise even good builders will go bankrupt if they can’t claim their progress payments.

I can't see plumbers, sparkies etc going online - there's going to be (more) blocked dunnies (with the toilet paper people have been hoarding), electrical faults etc....and building issues (from storms, etc)

A dude on TV was just saying more clarity will be needed regarding stores like JB Hifi or the Good Guys if your oven or laptop breaks down during your shutdown/lockdown. Maybe @Casteller could advise the situation in Spain.....

"And he warned that these tough new restrictions will be in place until the coronavirus crisis is brought under control.

“Once you start putting these sorts of arrangements in place, we should have the expectation that they will remain in place for at least six months,” Mr Morrison said.

“I wouldn’t want to get the impression that these arrangements are things that will be in place for a couple of weeks or a month and then will be discarded and everything will be OK. These are very significant measures.”

there we go, minimum 6 months, thats amazing,

is it just me but am I exagerrating to say that 80% of businesses could never reopen again

Plausible - but the enterprising ones should adapt to the situation and think of something new...where there's a problem, there lies an opportunity...

Not a non-essential shut-down anymore. Shut-down applies only to pubs, clubs, casinos, eat- in and drink-in venues, gyms and places of worship. Victorian school hols brought forward a few days.

What about dental clinic? Wife is concerned it may be deemed non-essential and they will be out of business in month's time if they are going to close down.
