    @Simon Hampel ...

I am trying ignore persons on the forum..

Are there any relevance of having this popping to alert the ignored person has posted?

If I want to ignore a person, I would want an option to fully ignore that person.

Obviously when an un-ignored person quotes the ignored person you still see it, but that is some we can't avoid.

Would we consider removing "Show Ignored Content"?

I think the problem is that things can be confusing if someone replies without quoting the ignored person - you'd see a reply which makes no sense at all because you can't see the context from the ignored post.

Better to know that there was something else there.

You'll just have to use some will power and not click on it.

@RetireRich101, I have never seen that message.

Is it because I have never 'Ignore' anyone?

Or is it because someone has never 'Ignore' me?

I remember one PC member messaged me to advise that they were going to 'Ignore' me. Initially, I was going to just ignore it :) but, in the end, I replied 'just do it'.

This is like taking away my drugs, but leaving the needle behind..

Why would one have the will power to NOT click on the "show ignored content"

Sometimes the the thread gets complicated when non ignorees respond to ignorees it's confusing to work out what's going on

And I'll stop messaging you :( you just need to ask ;)

Umm... Never had this issue, the ignored person usually just vanished as long as they are not quoted :p

maybe an option in the ignore configuration, that you can chose this enable/disable the "show Ignored Contents" on a user level, so it doesn't affect system wide....

If it was that simple K...

If all the people replied here in this thread alone utilizing the "ignore" effectively, then this forum would make few Moderator redundant :p

Kieran, can you tell me what they said here :p

I can't see the pictures @D.T. - is it because I am ignoring pictures of redheads, red neck and Tooheys Reds?

    I have to agree.
In theory, I don't want to ignore anyone but sometimes for the good of everyone, it's just the right thing to do. Once someone has made the decision to ignore, that should be honoured over everything else.
Later, when the adrenaline has settled and the negativity is gone and I've had a couple of good nights' sleep, I can go back and review. If I can't wait that long, I can read the thread with a little more restraint by not logging on.

It's been 10 hr in the rehab since posting and I haven't clicked on a single "show ignored contents" :)

On a serious note if it's something easy to implement, why not have this option? It doesn't really affect wider audience but only the person who clicks to opt out "Show ignored contents"?
