During this Covid time, our population growth has been stagnant and this is worrying for me as stagflation now looks inevitable.

Many of them are thinking of moving to Canada as there is quite a large Ukrainian community there. While Canada has yet to respond, I think Australia should seize this opportunity and open the door for them first.

I have a few Ukrainian friends who are stuck in Romania at the moment, no jobs, not very welcomed. These are skilled and hardworking individuals…

What do you think? Curious of all your opinions.

    Cheers.

I think we should but certain number of people only - love to support them and many smart people from that country too but honestly not anyone because we can’t support that. It is estimated around 5m refugees from Ukraine.

Genuine question, is there housing available? Vacancy rates look very low and while they could stay at the quarantine facility at wellcamp/Toowoomba for a while that's not a long term solution.

How about we release the refugees currently here in detentions centres, some of whom have been there for years, for a start.

    Sarcasm aside, yes.

I heard that Christmas Island was costing millions per month and housing only 4 people. Not sure if that’s still the case.

They are mostly unvaccinated. Should they be let in?

Not sure why are we still worrying about Covid. I have this at the moment, 7th day now since I first felt infected in my nose. By the third day, fever was gone. Now, I’m left with cough and slowly getting my smell and tastes back.

Meanwhile, a friend is hiding in the sewerage somewhere in Zaporizhzhrya

Australia doesn't even comply with our international refugee obligations for those seeking protection from us currently - why would be wanting to take more refugees?

Wouldn't they be "jumping the queue"?

So what techniques are these ?? I have heard they are backwards, still plough the land, releasing carbon, and cause a lot of soil erosion. They dont like the untidy look of no-till fields. They have the highest use of illegal chemicals and high levels of chemical residues. Mine the soil and dont use adequate phoshate . Have low use of precision agriculture and almost non existent use of mapping and Variable Rate technology.

Yes to short term protection as was given to Kosavars. They will need, and most will want to return once this is done if circumstances allow.

Not refugees but I know a lot of Russian that I work with are also looking to leave the country as well. Again, they are well educated, smart people. Hopefully a decent percentage of that can move to Australia. Anyway, if we are ready for more immigration, there are plenty of people looking to be in Australia; and that bodes well to residential property market in general over long term.
