    Totally agree with you.

    Insight on SBS had a similar theme a few weeks ago. TBH, I felt it was better than Four Corners as it was more balanced.

    They had Lauren Jackson, Matthew Mitcham, Jana Pitman, ... all 'whingeing' about the little help they got to transition to life after sport.

    Then a swimmer (I think it was Belinda Hocking) came on and said she had no problems transitioning.

    When asked why, she said her parents always told her that her greatest achievements would be outside the pool.

    Boom! Boom!! Say no more!!!

    It's interesting to me this program even exists...

    I'd say the majority (?) of people go through a career change in their lives for whatever reason. Why exactly is transitioning "after sport" so different?

    How about 'transitioning after the mining boom-bust'? Transitioning to life after printed magazines?

    So much self-importance...

    What about "transitioning to retirement"?

    I can't believe people struggle with that one.

    Jen, in no way do I want to appear facetious, but in the context of this thread, with what is happening currently at Fairfax, is a transition going to happen for a bunch of your colleagues (hopefully not your good self)?

    And what do you think are the implications for a takeover by TPG?

    Sorry mate, can't talk about these things in a public forum. Change is always scary, though.

    Then you have the "property crash" brigade hoping the market will tank and they buy in and it rises again. This would cause a bloodbath across the board as this article illustrates;

    Be Careful What You Wish For (You Just Might Get It)

    Capitlism, while flawed is the better model, compared to the other options imo.
