I’ve had this flu for 3 weeks now and the doctor told me if the cough is still around by Monday I must go get a chest x-ray to see what the issue is.

I just saw the photo of the chest x-ray I had taken this morning. Looks really scary :(

I’ve had cracked ribs before and I know what my chest x-ray usually looks like and this isn’t it. Looks like a big balloon on the left side of my chest. No balloon on the right side of my chest.

I go to see my GP tomorrow arvo to find out if this means something.

Has anyone else had a scare with an X-ray?
    Or any scare medically.

I’m tempted to google chest X-rays but maybe not a good idea. I might get the wrong idea.

I’m really quite scared and worried. Wish my appointment was in the morning now not at 4pm.

Turns out the big mass is my heart.

I saw a picture of a diagram and was labeled heart. Phew!

Looking at my x-ray compared to the other normal x-rays on google it’s very similar so it’s looking a ok :)

Omg yeah. I was freaking out for a bit there! :D

lol I don’t think they should allow people access to their x-rays before seeing their doctor.

Doesn't work on me because I am an optomist. I google my syptoms and go: nah, nah. Usually turns out worse than I thought! :D

U should ask what "real" doctors think of Dr Google :)

Anyway, hope it turns out to be nothing. Seems like u're having a tough run. All the best.

I just wonder why you were prescribed antibiotics for a flu? A flu's a virus not a bacterial infection.

Anyway, be sure to have the quadruple flu shot this year - it’s cheap at Chemist Warehouse (~10) or often free through work.

If you must do your own research, use medical journals. You may not understand half of it, but at least what you do understand comes from a reputable source.

And please don't tell someone who's ill that yoga will fix all their issues. It just tells them that you think they haven't tried hard enough to improve their own health.

I don't think I'll go for a flu shot this year.

I might try an anti flu shot this time around
