Beachside skyscraper would be built in Scarborough by Chinese developers Scarborough set for Perth’s beachside skyscraper I'm not sure what direct impact this would have on property values in the area but after watching the telly this morning I'm so surprised as to why people are so against development in WA. Surely this has to be a positive thing for the state and we should support progress and anything that creates jobs and tourism.
Unfortunately like most areas around Aus there's a manority who only care about their own interests. They all think it's gunna turn into Surfers, perhaps it will one day, but not in their life time. I reckon if they don't want it do it in Rockingham or Mandurah, but State Gov would have to get involved, councils full of old fashioned idea councilors who don't like change.
The only big downside of Scarborough is that it has poor public transport options. Otherwise you tick all the boxes. As for the NIMBY's - they will always be vocal. As the city grows this "no" generation are getting drowned out.
True, with the right planning minister & funds light rail/tram down Scarborough beach road, through Innaloo, maybe link it to City Beach & Karrinyup, could help with that. However, how does everyone get too/from Bondi?
Yep - once they build trains to yanchep, Wanneroo, pinjarra, Ellenbrook, Wanneroo, the airport and mirrabooka. And then they will build a big circle for the outer suburbs to connect them all together Then the will build for Scarborough But a train link for the beach to the central line would be nice I agree Bondi junction
