SBS Interactive Map - Third Generation Australians

Very interesting interactive map of Aus showing the proportion of third generation Aussies in all postcode areas of Australia.
Sydney shows the lowest percentage of third generation Aussies... very interesting to see it by region though.
Also Southern Brissie too to a lessor extent.

Not many immigrants in Brisbane. Now i am careful in saying if Brisbane will grow comparable to Sydney & Melbourne.
Immigration is one of the key drivers to growth.

 

I read that Brisbane gets migration from interstate (believe it's NSW mostly then from Vic) rather than directly from overseas. People land here in Sydney and some people will move out of here. But my thought is that the vast majority of migrants themselves don't tend to move interstate, but settle where they land.
Anyway... we can call Sydney a more international city, for sure.
