    Hi,
Just wondering which lenders are best for assessing tax free income when working at a hospital/charity through salary packaging? As I work at a hospital, I receive around $9k tax free which could assist with my borrowing capacity.
Any thoughts would be great -

I'm going to be in the same boat with my wife and I packaging around $30k between multiple jobs. Just wondering if you have spoken to a bank?

I would have assumed they would all be able to deal with it, it comes up on your PAYG statement as a reportable fringe benefit amount, surely they take this into account when you apply?

My first couple of investment properties are with CBA, and on both occasions they added back as gross taxable income. I've heard ANZ and suncorp are more lenient in this space and add it to tax free, wonder if there are any others?

Most lenders simply view this as taxable income. Their argument is that if you worked elsewhere, you'd get about the same salary without the packaging benefit.

Whilst lenders are fully aware of these arrangements, they will want bank statements showing credits to confirm that it is actually being paid back to you.

This is what the bank requested in our case. My partner is a nurse, she received $10k tax-free as part of salary packaging. The bank just asked for a statement from the salary packaging along with bank statements showing the money coming in fortnightly. No issues afterwards and it helped with borrowing capacity.

Macquarie was the bank that asked for the proof. We just refi'd with Bankwest and they also asked for this.

If voluntary it can be stopped and should have no affect

This is pretty standard across most lenders.

    Why CBA?
Make sure they're not cross secured.

NAB will accept around 10 k of it tax free in a weird way using 12 months of salary credits

Seems like you have a few challenges to contend with seeing all your various posts.

Do you have an objection to using a broker that navigates this sort of Venn Diagram on a daily basis ?
