China did the same thing in 2013, and BTC dropped below 7k...
There is a very good chance they are accumulating in the background after talking it down.
You only need to look at how much Gold they own. Official reserves from them say 1,948 tonnes, but its more likely to be over 14,000 tones - see here .
So my take, don't believe them.

It was a short term trade. Existed long ago with a just under 4k profit, 20% return on my investment.

Overall I'm still bearish on the future of it.

That’s the thing with these threads: no timeline, when you follow up it’s all done and dusted.

Shorting the wrong asset class @Sackie. Should be shorting the commodity market for china's incredible collapse. Contagion will be real. Seen the pyramid ponzi AKA derivatives?

    Bitcoin will take a hit. But ultimately it'll hit $100k, 1m <end of fiat?>, 10m, 100m...

Stick to what you know best. :D:D:D
Leave the cypto to the speculators and professionals.

I can admit - I know SFA about cypto and just leave it at that.

I made a 20% return so I'm not complaining. But I'd never dare 'invest' much in it. Just doesn't fit my risk tolerance. The volatility is too insane.

What is the competitive advantage of Bitcoin? Other than first mover advantage I can not see any. And if history fought me anything is that first movers rarely last. Spectacular growth initially that might be followed by total obliteration once others move into the space.

From Facebook to consortium of Central banks, there are many parties that are working on digital currencies. My bet is that they will easily push it to sidelines.

That, coupled with its inefficiency and the fact that it is only supported by miners who expect it to keep growing worries me.

FYI Bitcoin is considered a boomer coin now. Most crypto traders I know don't even hold bitcoin anymore as the upside is not considered worth it.

Just read this thread... oh boy

Bitcoin is one of the best risk adjusted investments you can make.

The first (of many) ETF started trading on Nasdaq today with a near $1BN of transactions on the first trading day.

    But its probably nothing...

I recently refinanced PPOR and loaded up on cheap Bitcoin during this latest dip. I do not recommend it to anyone who is new, I have spent 2000+ hrs studying Bitcoin so I have full conviction, intent and understanding.

I can see the crazy eyes looks on a lot of faces reading this haha, thats ok :) I don't blame you.

Whatever you think of Bitcoin, I urge you to just forget what your friend or uncle Bob has told you and just try to learn about it for yourself.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
