Do they really need to be cleaned at all? There's nothing wrong with the tiles other than some moss have started to grow. My roofer have advised not to clean them as high pressure cleaning might blast the mortar and make an absolutely mess (their words). I have no intentions of changing the tile colours either..thanks
Your roofer is correct. Leave them alone. If you want them to look nice and clean - apply http://wetandforget.com.au/products/outdoor-cleaning/wet-and-forget.html
Thanks for the advice - I'll grab a bottle of that, spray it and see what happens. Will leave the roof tiles alone and find something else to spend my hard earned moolah on.
Roof tiles should be only sprayed from time to time with a special product, which protects them from moisture. Of course, if you have damaged tiles, they should be either replaced or repaired before the spraying. But using harsh detergent is not recommended, because it can cause corrosion after some time.
Its on my list of to do with two of my IPs. I am sure that there are no crack tiles and would like them to be cleaned and painted to freshen the property up abit.
