    Hi all,

I’m trying to apply a road base car space (something like photo below) for 2 cars at the back of my IP in inner North Brisbane, so 6x4 m x 2, plus the road in, 8x4 m. So in total it will be around 80 sqm. The current condition is just grass on dirt.

Does anyone has a ballpark idea on how much it will cost me?

    Thanks in advance.

Cbr45 roadbase is widely available for between $45-65m2. You probably want to go 15cm deep for cars and it will compact 15-20% in volume.

So about 16m3 total - $800-$1000 materials. You’ll probably spend the same again to excavate soil first. 16m3 of road base will weight about 24 tonnes, so best to get delivered on day of dig and have them move and compact it. Then you need whatever ending you put in to keep it in place.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't concrete it ?

Recycled concrete compacted may be an option also, it could work out cheaper.
Cartage and spreading it all is the costly part

I plan to redevelop that space in the future. Road base will be easier to be removed I was told?
Just curious, how much it cost me for concrete base do you know?

Any ballpark figure please for cartage and spreading? We have quite a space for equipments to work around without issues. Access will be easy as well.

Cheap to get roadbase delivered - <$100 for bulk delivery. Getting rid of the soil will probably cost as much as the roadbase. We just had about 14m2 of soil and more fidly work removed for around $1k. I would think concrete is about 3 x the price and you probably want to put thin roadbase under first unless ground is pretty stable

Herston, inner city Brisbane. Thanks for the recommendation.

I’m getting a contractor to do the work, will let them know.
