I’ve owned a pair of Sydney boots for 3 months. Yes, I slipped a bit at the beginning, but it’s wearing in nicely now

If a person bough cheap shoes which they need to replace every year in comparison to a boot which they can wear for many years (requires maintenance during the years), I still think costs wise, you are still ahead. Cheap does not always necessarily equate to quality.

Sometimes you get lucky so they're a bargain.

Just gone through a second pair of the same boot (replaced at no cost) - same failure.

(correction - they were Windsor Smith not Floorsheim Comfortech, my usual preference in shoe).

Sorry, I was obtuse. My point was about barefoot investor (no shoes) being the opposite of a thread about boots, not about cheap vs good.

My nephew-in-law (is there such a thing?) - picked up a pair from the op shop for $20, had them resoled as they were worn through, and now wears them relentlessly.

Can't seem to kill those good ole RM's
