Another thread got me thinking, many of my favourite games were my favourite because they were funny or over-the-top.

The latest one I bought was NBA Jam on PS3 - for the crazy dunks and the fact you can just push people over.

Most of the time these games don't get good reviews though so they're hard to find!

Anyone else got a ridiculous game they recommend?

    Tony Hawk, the older ones.

I liked NBA Jam / Tony Hawk.
Who remembers Carmageddon where you got combos for how many people you could run over at a time?

Street Fighter 2 Rainbow Edition. The bootleg versions where you could do hadoukens as you jumped in the air then do another one and another going up and up until you vanished from the screen and appeared from the bottom again. Ridiculous but fun.

Carmageddon....I loved that one. I only found out after years of playing it that it was a race. I thought you won by killing the most people.

Yea its a race, but you could also win/exit by writing off all the other cars, or by getting a quota of people i think.

Been a long time since i've played any computer game!

Yeah vaguely I think. Was it in a ring and fairly blood thirsty.
    What was that on??

    Tony hawk, great game

The rally fifas were good for pushing and tough tackles. Otherwise beers and gta with cheats on, seeing who could get the stars fastest and swat team out etc

That's right. I used to take out the other drivers...that's how I won the race..It was similar to Twisted Metal but that one has weapons like missiles...haha

There was also Road Rage where you were a biker racing others and you could hit them with chains, baseball bat etc lol

I use to play for hours online Call of Duty. But realised when it gets to intense I find myself getting really angry and agitated and it's not enjoyable which defies the purpose of playing a video game.

I was playing Super Mario 3 on iPad my brother did some hack where he can download Snes games good times :D

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - one of the greatest games of all time. I think they were aiming to simulate the gravity of the moon–good decision.

To think of the hours I spent playing though.

Actually, to think of the hours I spend writing about playing it (I wrote a monstrous epic FAQ/Walkthrough for it in my teens).

    Anyway, getting back on topic.

The games that come to mind most were the ridiculous 2D, side-facing fighting games.. particularly the Mortal Kombat series and its fatalities, babailities etc.

I'm glad there's only one "t" in the second word.

I had atari too. I think it was the ATARI 6400. I loved the Asteroid game. The inbuilt one.

Then I had Sega Master System.
    Then commodore 64.
    Then Xbox
    Then PS3
    Then PS4
    Then I realised I'm wasting my life.....haha

Young whipper snapper - you've probably never had the privilege of owning a cassette walkman either.

    Cheers
