I presume it is, but I'm liking having some loans tied to the PPOR. They attract less interest than the other ones since it's the PPOR. I've switched all my offsets to the higher interest rate loans, but have plenty of powder dry that I can pay off the loans attached to the PPOR if I wish.

Yes it is. No matter the type of business/investment/personal arrangement, one should always be working towards maximising their cash flows and minimising their risks where ever possible.

As such, reducing one's risk exposure is of crucial importance, even more so when it's a ppor on the line exposed to creditors and/or any other interested parties post rat race exit, when options to negate may be at hand.

SANF - it's the holy grail and a fabulous achievement attaining your financial independence and freedom. IMO the last thing wanted is being forced to evasive action to protect the family home.

In all honesty, I don't really consider it all that special. I'm sure that many here can achieve the same, if not better results. Especially the younger generations coming through who have so much information at their fingertips, should they choose to use it.

 

You're so humble about it Skater. Knowing your history, many others would've given up and gone on welfare for the rest of your lives. What a wonderful example you have set your daughters and how proud you both should be on how to overcome massive struggles in your life and have a great life for the years to come.

I can't help it Skater, I have to worry... I really wonder about what I would do if I stopped worked. I reckon I would get bored very quickly. The type of person who has the capability to build a solid passive income isn't the type who can just kick back and say that's it, im done.

 

Who said you should stop doing anything?
When you have the resources, try 3 months holiday without work, at home.
By the 3rd week you will somehow find something to do.

 

Who said there's nothing to do and we're 'kicking back'. We've got plenty of things to do. Work just got in the way.

 

Somebody should post all the learnings from these amazing meetups. Blokes in the boonies who can't attend are just missing out on some real pearls.
