    Business as usual. For the last couple of years, Hubby's salary was in excess of our needs. Now, after selling a few properties & placing the funds into offsets (essentially paying them down), we have enough to live on. We've recently bought three NRAS properties too, and won't get the full incentives until September 2016, so a big pay rise in 12 months time. At that stage, it will be a nice level split between the two of us.

    LOL! I'm sure neither of my daughters want to be tied to their parents in a JV. Broker said to wait a couple of years, and as the Sydney market will take a while before it's a buyers market again, that suits us. BUT....at the same time, I'm jealous of everyone else out there buying.

    I should rephrase this
    You bet, Syd, followed by Melb

    I don't believe Brissy is going to crash but I don't see a spectacular boom, APRA and the economy, perhaps a rise which we are seeing but it won't be sustainable, not a repeat of Syd
    Adelaide, no idea?.. From all accounts it's at bottom, but I don't know what will drive this market?..

    Congrats skater and your hubby! Sounds like quite a journey from 98 but I'm sure it's all well paid off now. And what a coincidence when I was just thinking about whether people can actually retire off IP on my way off work, bang! Here's your post on front of everyone :)

    No! In fact we've got a heap of debt due to some refinancing in preparation for pulling the plug......but we've got a heap of offsets in place.:D

    Funny thing is I didn't even know until I called today.... I'll gladly take an au pair to help with the little rascal!

    Anyway, congratulations to the two of you. I know how hard you've worked to get to where you are :)
