Roof racks if you have them, or
Do you have a tow-ball? Hire a trailer, or
Do you have to do any landscaping?
If so, and need supplies from a landscape yard, they supply you with a trailer, usually for up to 2 hours but there's some leniency, make use of it.

However, if you get a non-bunnies handyman he'll likely do it all for you.

I don't believe they won't remove the old door - it's just 6-9 hinge screws. Have you actually checked with the installer?

You can get Bunnings to deliver. Not that expensive.
Or you can rent one of their utes for half a day.

Put the doors in the hard rubbish collection. Or advertise them for free on Gumtree or eBay.

Or, if you get a handyperson to install, you could get them to collect them for a bit extra.

    Thank you, good tips.

The bunnings repeated it like 3 times, you must remove the doors, they want remove it for you. haha. I don't have an issue removing the doors... it seems rather strange they won't do it for you and charge $160 per door.

sounds easy :D?...I just got a quote from my PM's handyman - to replace loose sliding door to swing door cost $1200 (need a new door frame) or repair the loose sliding door cost $800 (need new track) :(
    any cheaper alternatives? :p

That's ridiculous! Huge labor charge there, & the PM should know it.. Get another quote.
    Without seeing it;
For swing they should be able to add hinges etc to current frame, fit new door.
Slide, current track is prob fine but likely needs new wheels & cradles.
If me I'd get it done for max $300

It's interstate investment :( That's always been a problem with our PM- their quote is always higher than recommended tradies fr here by @wylie @Bran @kierank. PM is always protective of theirs and often obstructive of using own tradies :(

    Daylight robbery.

A sliding door track is not very expensive. I am having a header board installed, the track installed and the door fitted including handles. Installation cost for all this including provision of the header board is about $165. Added to this was the cost of a fancy track I supplied (with integrated pelmet) just over $100. This is for a 1200 mm door.

If the opening already has a pelmet then you just need a simple track.

Usually if a track is loose it just needs adjusting or sometimes new rollers installed. If it's an old track you might not be able to get new rollers so a replacement would be required.

But it is a really easy and quick job!

Perhaps that's the problem? perhaps worth considering finding a new PM, this one obviously isn't doing the right thing by you...

Maybe another forum member can recommend someone, post a new thread asking them.

New PM & Handyman recommendation for <insert area here>

If you don't have the tools to do it then I can guarantee you will be getting someone to do them for you unless you buy the tools yourself.

And no the doors you buy at bunnings are not pre hung meaning holes drilled out for door locks and hinges installed. Even if they were then there is no guarantee that the previous carpenter who installed them put the hinges in the exact same spacing as the doors you buy and the door lock in the exact same spot as well.

    Tools you will need
    Hammer
    Chisels
    Drill and bits
    Screwdrivers
    Planer

    Good luck

Same with my PM, every time I ask him to get me some quotes he gets me one and only one. When I ask for more, I can the feeling it's an inconvenience for them and they are not happy.

Quotes that have come back in the past varies by a few hundred

OK. Is it a sliding aluminum and glass door?

I had a sliding external glass door that got stuck because the bottom rollers were worn. Cost about $350 to have the rollers replaced.

Half glass door. $350 sounds very reasonable

    That might be very excessive.
I changed the rollers on a shower screen door, bought the rollers from Bunnings, screwed them in, it took all of 5 minutes to do. Appreciate shower screen isn't 100% the same as the job you had, but it sounds like money for jam... (literally)

The chap I know who is a handyman is too busy for any more referrals but I'm sure others can recommend a tradie who will do this job. Is this slider a cavity slider or do you see the door when it is open?

That price is a complete rip-off.
