    Hi there

We have an old run down investment property. HWS dux electric 315 litre 2006 model , stops heating so I decide to replace the unit. It is on outside rear deck. I organise a very similar replacement unit for next day and ask local plumber to install. He lives 5 minutes away. He removes old unit and places on ground at rear of house, installs new unit, and uses his electrician to unwire old unit and wire up new unit, single element.

I then picked up old unit and removed old unit to metal recyclers.

I received his bill today and he has charged me 270 labour plus parts and this does not include the electrician bill.

Does this sound reasonable? Without a quote for the job, even if it not reasonable do I have any options?

    Cheers

    Kevin

Would you get out of bed for $270?

What is a plumber's charge out rate nowadays (about $90/hour)
How much is a call out fee?
