So the Government will tell you how good things currently are, and how much worse things could have been ......
Plenty of people are stoked at all the additional "free" money they've received, most are just grateful to be able to stay afloat.
Everyone is hoping the current circumstances will end sooner than later ;)

What are peoples thoughts on exactly HOW the Government intends to recover the 100's of millions (up to a Trillion) spent on economic stimulus ???

    An additional fuel levy/excise
Increased taxes for income tax and business tax
Increasing the gst to 15% (or as much as 20%)
Up the luxury car tax and lower the threshold
At a state level, stamp duty increase, increased registration,

How will we get out of this financial hole :(

    Thoughts

The Gov issues a bond for $1T
    CBA buys the bond
RBA buys it from the CBA
Gov pay the coupon to the bondholder (RBA in this case)
RBA pays a dividend to its only shareholder (the Gov.)
The circle continues until inflation takes care of the face value of the bond.
    Simples ;)

We'll get slugged for it of course , and our cost of living will sadly become even more ridiculous .
Personally l reckon they should just print up a bill or two every few wks and just quietly slip that back into the cookie jar for a few yrs. No one'll know the difference

That is exactly what will happen. It will take a while though.
