    Hi Team,

Attached pic shows a crack in the Garage roof and this roof is also a floor if our entrance that has wooden floor.

Some water got spilled yesterday and I notuce it also leaked from here in the garage.

Can a handly man fix it or I need to hire someone professional tradesperson who is expert in this type job?

I have also uploaded couple.of the pics to show surrounding roof surface.

    Thx in advance!

A structural engineer would be able to advise if the slab has a defect and any remedy suitable for the slab.

Thanks Paul...as part of building inspection - no structural issues were flagged.

But that inspector isnt a structural engineer and there is a obvious crack through the slab. Its like asking a pharmacist how to treat cancer. They know about medications but not about treatment or the specific condition. There may be a legal avenue to explore with a solicitor if the inspection didnt report something that is material eg a major crack. But a engineers report is the likely start point for that too.

I contacted couple of Structural Engineers via hipages but due to languahe limitation on the other side, I am unable to confirm thenlevel of k owledge and experience.

Can anyone please recommend a structural engineer to do a report on whope property including the listed item.

What is the area on top eg lounge room or balcony or bathroom?

Without addressing the cause of the crack, the membrane will stretch and break.

The crack appears to be very straight, is it a designed crack?
