    Hello,

I have touched up my ceiling over an area of about 60 x 60 cm with flat white paint and the color blends in, mostly. But, if I look at the patch from a certain angle with low amount of light in the room, the newly painted area becomes obvious. I think it's what people call "flashing".

I've been contemplating to repaint the entire ceiling. Would repainting my entire ceiling remove the "flashing" or would I risk creating even more "flashing" patches?

Repainting the entire ceiling will fix it.

    Don't look up :D

Give it a week once you stop looking at it, then go back and have a look. 90% chance it won't stand out as much ;)

Repainting will hide it. Otherwise you can feather edges by running roller dry to blend it progressively

I'd first have to consider what room it is.

I once rented a house where I damaged the ceiling both in the lounge room and the bedroom.

I kid you not, the first inspection by PM and the damage in the lounge room ceiling was picked up straight away. The damage in the bedroom wasn't picked till over a year later!

So if it's in the lounge room etc , yes fix it. Anywhere else pfftt.
