Renting out rooms during crisis

    Just had a thought - what if landlords could rent out a room (or two) in a house to help pay the rent if the tenants refuse to pay? And maybe the choice of new occupant would deter the tenant from staying.

    That would be in breach of the tenancy lease which gives them the sole right to occupy. You cant just send other people to live with them. Its also a breach of council regs insurance etc. They will have every legal right to cease paying anything and the tribunal will give you jack long after the eviction ban ends. You may end up paying to move their stuff.
