How many of you landlords do your own property management (no REA)?

And what platforms are best to advertise on other than Gumtree? Facebook groups/which ones? etc. I realise only REAs can advertise on Realestate & Domain.

    cheers Ron

Websites like forsaleforlease.com.au which have access to realestate.com.au & domain.com.au or Rent Your Property | List Your Property For Rent | For Lease By Owner or PRIVATE RENTALS – View Houses For Rent By Owner | View listings

Websites like Gumtree attract the dregs of the rental market ie those without rental history, blacklisted/TICA etc.

You can use an agent purely for the leasing functions and then self-manage.

I managed my own properties for 17 years and then decided to start a REA :)

Finding new tenants was always a bit of a challenge without proper advertising channels and photography. Try rentbetter.com.au as another alternative.

I've successfully used Cubbi but over past years have gone through an agent for let only and then taken over.

A few times I've also advertised on Cubbi, FB and Gumtree and then sent the applicants through the agent for usual checks.

I haved used several in the past including:

    forsaleforlease.com.au
    rent.com.au
    landlordschoice.com.au

In recent times I have found eezirent.com.au has worked best for me.

I have also used gumtree but FFS this is a last resort!

I have used Landlords Choice for years and the service is excellent. They list your property of all the online real estate sites Realestate.com.au, Domain.com.au etc and send you the request for inspection immediately. Their web site allows you to update your listing at any time. They have info packs for all states with leases and forms.
