I was importing German solar PV panels for a number of years until the manufacturer exited the industry.

They stayed in CSP and I notionally represent them in Australia - but there are no real prospects at the moment.

In both cases it is a bolt on to the existing core business (specialty glass).

Sorry to 'high jack' the thread but...

Tonibell, as you have worked in the industry, which type of solar system you will recommend to the normal household purpose.

The prices have come down so much that I wonder if the solar start making sense not only as green initiative but also economically.

Our next house (forever house) I am seriously considering to install solar.

I am in a position to be entering into renewable energy as a director, pretty excited to be honest.
It will be something completely new to me personally trading energy.

And no, I am not talking about solar panels.

@Tillie No particular recommendation - solar doesn't quite get there on its own at the moment, it still needs government incentives. The battery storage, however, will be the game changer.

@Lone_Wolf Congrats on the new position. Any more details than "trading energy" ?

    Tonibell,

Exactly improvements in battery storage systems have made me to rethink about the economics of solar. But seems to be hard to find out more reliable information about them
