Mum sues Reject Shop over dead mouse allegedly found in SpongeBob biscuit packet Its called the reject shop for a reason. Love to hear the defence for this one... I would imagine that reject shop had no duty of care for checking a sealed package they merely resell. The manufacturer may have a Donohue v Stevenson on its hands.
So now every item of sealed packaged goods has to go thru x-ray machine before being stocked on the shelves or at the checkout, just so that we are not traumatised when we open a package!!!
If it's true, it's clearly not ideal to find a dead mouse in a food packet. However, it's reported that the mother is sueing because she ( the mother) suffered PTSD after merely seeing her daughter open the packet! What terrible examples the parents are setting. Show a bit of resilience and be good role models to stop raising namby pamby kids...
What are they complaining about? A packet of bickies for the kids and a bonus rodent for the pet snake.
Could have been a bonus if they had a pet snake at home... Seriously though, sure it's awful that it happened (where's the quality control?) and if the story is correct that the staff laughed then that also needs to be dealt with (inappropriate) but suing for psychiatric trauma and depression, come on!
God I hope they do not settle with these mongrels. What a cop out. Are they vegan? Bet they would have no problem with a whole goat over a fire.
Two years ago i found a dead lizard inside a meat pie packaging purchased from aldi. I just chucked it in the bin and got on with life.
Bought son 2 pasta thingies Maccas used to sell. He consumed one but in the second lot there was a bandaid poking out of the pasta. Needless to say he didn't feel like eating any more. Returned to Maccas handed over the product, got a refund and asked that they please investigate the source of their pasta product which was a manufacturer here in Victoria. Within a few months Maccas weren't selling them any more and haven't since.
