    Hi everyone.
I want to tap on your wisdom here. Mine is a double brick house, about 60+ years old. There are multiple cracks like in the photos appearing on the wall. I'm in Melbourne West.

How could I find out the root cause of it?

Could you recommend a structural engineer and a builder to inspect the problem and have it fixed?

Anyone with similar experience, could you share how you dealt with the thing?

    Thanks in advance.

They look like settlement cracks. Obtain a report from a structural engineer.

They will probably tell you to either:
    1) monitor the situation and get a review in a years time to track movement; or
    2) rectify i.e. underpinning.

They usually have builder contacts who can provide a quote for rectification works. Our engineer (in Brisbane) was able to give us a quote based recent figures from their own database.

    Good luck.
