We are re-locating to Brisbane (from NSW) and looking to convert our PPOR to IP. There has been some excellent advice we have received from these forums but we'd like to look for an accountant to provide specific advice for our scenario. This will be our first investment property.

Are tax accountants also the right people to discuss structuring loans when converting to IP and preparing to buy 2nd PPOR or should we be looking for another professional?

    Thanks in advance.

Registered tax agents - which may also be accountants, or tax lawyers can advise on the tax aspects of structuring loans.

Where the presence of a tax agent is is probbaly less important than their capacity for knowledge and experience in a diverse range of property tax issues. These days any competenet tax adviser will have clienst across the planet and with social distancing they will also use a variety of resources to avoid any contact or paper BUt will be welcoming to enquiries and contact to assist and support you. If not its a old school practitioner.

eg Here is a test : Do they provide a CGT record keeping resource and guidance ? Its one of my tests for a property savvy adviser
