I'm hoping to get strata approval for fairly major renovations (removing a wall) and have been advised that will require a new bylaw. This is in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and Google is proving surprisingly helpful, but there's nothing like word of mouth, so recommend away!

When we removed a wall we just needed a report from a structural engineer to confirm the wall wasn’t weight bearing. This was then forwarded to the Strata Manager and the bylaw was passed at the next Strata meeting. We didn’t need a Solicitor. Do you know what the Solicitor does?

I've used Bannermans Lawyers in North Sydney many times, they're specialists strata lawyers.

What did they charge for the by-law?
