    Hi all

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I was hoping for some collective forum advice.

Looks like I'll be moving to the Gold Coast (Southport) for work next yr (from Brisbane).
Can anyone recommend areas suitable for a young family (with one kid) to rent?
    Thanks!

Rule of thumb for families is anywhere that's not surfers paradise is OK- concentration of posers and spivs there is 31.2% higher than elsewhere on GC ........

Broadbeach and Main Beach are great combination of easy commute, nice atmosphere if you want somewhere near beach.

    Good luck, Wal

    What's your budget?

I think mermaid waters is great to consider if you are after a house close to beach and close to Pacific Fair for shopping.

And do you prefer a house or apartment?

I hear that Labrador is generally quite pet friendly.

Yeah- check out Labrador (haven't spent much time there but should be cheaper than Broadbeach etc)- also some of the housing inland has some nice views and family friendly ie Benowa/ Biggera waters
