    Hi All,

Was wondering if anybody here can recommend a broker who specialises in helping people build portfolios? Essentially someone who can act as a mentor for my Dad. Preferably someone in Melbourne he can go see, but he might be open to the idea of dealing with someone interstate.

The old man just turned 53 and only has the one IP, so he isn't retiring any time soon at this rate. Need someone who can help get him set up properly and point him in the right direction so he can build a portfolio to retire on in hopefully no more than 10 years.

He doesn't have the time to build wealth that I do, so I'm more concerned with getting him a mentor than myself at this point. :p

    Thanks

    Hi @juzzy

Good on you for getting in and giving your dad a hand :)

The property that your dad owns... do you know whether it is paid off, or still has debt against it?

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

PPOR is paid off I think. Little bit of equity in IP.

With equity in property and satisfactory servicing he should be good to go to build his portfolio.
