    Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can recommend which insurance company they use and have had good experience. How would you rate NRMA vs Terri scheer?

I think you will only know when you need to commence a claim process. I went with EBM.

Terri Scheer and EBM are popular choices. You can also get discounts if you mention Property Chat with EBM.

    Check out this thread.

I recently got a deal with Pi Plus insurance, as I was a new client I got 14 months for the price of 12. Their prices were pretty well the same as EBM

I noticed EBM still doesn't cover flood damages. Those that have EBM, who do you go with for the building insurance?

Can I ask, what are peoples thoughts on me selecting EBM for landlord insurance to cover tenants default and damage etc and then going with NRMA for building insurance. Is it unusally to have 2 policies on the 1 property or do a lo of people do this on the forum?

    Following up with Striple's query.
Would it benefit to have 2 policies from 1 insurance company?
I haven't seen people recommending building insurance company. Which ones do members normally go with?

I will use whomever will pay for what cover I am paying for, and because not all insurers do everything you really need to look at your needs/requirements

I split the tenant part from building due to cost and needs quite often, in many scenarios it is not possible to have 1 company, or if you do, it will be lacking somewhere quite often.

+1 for Terri Scheer and EBM.

I use EBM myself. Never had a problem with them, but then again I've never had a problem so they've never had to prove themselves!

I got 2 with Comminsure only because the properties are with them and get a discount under MAV package. Never had to claim so thats the true test of whether they are any good or not?

You could use an insurance broker as they know the ins and outs of the particular products.

Is it recommended to go through a broker? I thought he would put you through the one that pay them the highest commission.

read each of the PDS docs and decide if they supply what you want, then look to see if people have lot of problems with claims, then compare value.

No good complaining that an insurer wont pay if you have paid for a product that does not provide the cover, of course they will refuse the claim (in other words, you have to look closely at complaints too).
