Where are the punters going for info from the 2 major parties?

I have added a poll and we can discuss as we go. (ill leave my 2c out for now :) )

I have the poll in 3 parts
    1. domain v re.com.au (or both)

    2. preferred app
    3. preferred content source (articles, website, social media etc)

you can vote up to 3 times

Please be gentle with me and add your extra opinions below

(I am no way affiliated with the 2 groups, just a curious by stander keen to watch them fight it out :D)

I used to have my favorite. Then it changed. Then it changed again. They both keep making improvements so depending on when you check one could be better the other. So I can't pick.

But I still use both for those rare times there's a listing on one but not the other. You get a head start on 50% of the market that way.

I'm on team Domain. I just find the search and layout easier to use . 'Under offer' text is easy to see...

I hope Domain push harder into QLD, Brisbane. Realestate.com need more competition, they fleece Bris agents.

re.com has more listings (at least in NSW)
domain I use, but find their spamming of my inbox with "featured home alerts" intolerable

I previously used Domain and less of Real Estate.

But the over the years I have found the RE app to be better - for one simple reason - RE has a "Search in this area". Domain tries to be smart and only show if you zoom in / out or pan to a different area.

That said, both are the same to me in terms of content. But i'm looking in Sydney.

I like to think the fleece all agents equally ;)

Varies per state I'm sure, but Domain is a waste of time here.

Which sucks, because then you get calls from REA saying "guess what, we're putting our prices up again!"

I was always using RE but recently downloaded the domain app and lost my bananas! I found it a lot better to use and having the extra info like school zones and a note taking section is very handy

I was unaware how much it varied state to state.

As for info they are spitting out I rarely read RE info. Domain is putting out better quality info imo. RE is a bit to "simple" ... although that is right up my alley ;) they have 2 jokers from the block who talk ****.

RE i have noticed have signed up the property couch boys but im yet to watch any of it as I listen the their podcast. They have also sign Kieran clair from your investment mag and forumite so he may save them :D

Domain have a higher strike rate with quality and content

What does RE charge for a listing? Does it vary by sale price or real estate company?

My ones are about 145 each (varies by suburb) plus the monthly subscription. Note that we're a pm only agency so these a rental listings. Sales listings cost a fair bit more, but different agencies will have different deals.
