@Tim & Chrissy - framed out using metal instead of timber. You will also need some tie downs/straps to stop the wind picking up the roof.

Surface mounted conduit is probably the neatest.

hmmm... let some awning or roof guys price it, even a handyman could have a crack.

why not do timber and polycarbonate roofing so theres no rust issues.
whack a 300mm beam across the front and rear on the bricks then ~150mm timbers front to rear to support the sheets and insulate and support gyprock sheets under
use a flashing or some quirky cladding to cover the new work. You could get away with anything if there's of quirky going on ;)

what does the current roof have holding it down?
yep, probs a few ways to do it. but reduces the steel used, you can paint the brackets and dyna bolts to prevent rust.

Next problem, extending the roof across so we can use the outdoor shower without the neighbours above copping an eye full.

Bougainvillea provides so privacy but is really close to where I need to put a post in.

Love your work Bob, are those spacing's 400mm ;)

See that framework Bobs made up, imagine that larger covering the whole shed, propped up with similar where/if you want it higher in places, then sheet it.

Re Shower, if you wanna keep the outdoor feel for hot days, after a surf etc, maybe make up a Bali style timber privacy screen (google it)
