I have been having difficulties with my sleep lately.
Used to love to play my piano CDs, but alas they are too short.. Only lasted 30 minutes or so.
That got me thinking about the radios here.
My memory tells me years ago there used to be some light & easy channels.
But last few weeks between 11.00PM to 3.00AM, I've been searching frantically for a good channel.
Only to be bombarded by loud and fast music.
Or some real boring "classical" with opera singers.
None of this is good for my sleep, but rather winds me up some more!

I know there are a lot of Apps that I can go to: Spotify, Youtube, TuneIn, some Chinese ones for example. There are even some overseas Channels that give bedtime talks, and all the broadcasters have good voice. I mean the hypnotising voice.

But I just want a simple radio, as I dont want wifi in my bedroom when I sleep.
I also have a small digital radio. Found nothing.

Please help and share your experience.

has been using SBS chill on DAB channel for a while now to fall asleep. Simple free to air option without advertisements or speaking and you don't need wifi or fancy apps to play.

Loaded it up on your digital clock radio and set a time of 15-30 minutes to switch off automatically and you should pass out before it goes off.

How about a Stilnox at 11pm for about 7 days in a row (no more) until you reset your body clock? It worked for me when I had a rotator cuff tendon tear and got into a bad sleeping routine waking at 2am in pain.

Broadcast of Parliament on ABC can send you to sleep but it's only on during sitting days. Maybe record it? :D

Create a huge playlist of MP3 - play back on a compatible player or laptop (WITHOUT using a bluetooth speaker! Good old fashioned wired one)

Actually I need a new DAB radio. Any good one to recommend?
I rejected those "retro" looking ones. My Sangean is simple sleek and white but is not tuning properly. Been looking at reviews and couldnt decide. Maybe same as radios, they are slowing down??

I think Grant Hacket might have a few boxes left over.

I use podcasts, load them on iPhone and put it in airplane mode and set timer to turn off at certain times or when podcast is over. Works for me.

I need to listen to something to stop my mind racing or planning or worrying. Music doesn’t work for me.

Classic FM 103.7. But you are at their mercy I guess and random Shostakovich could interrupt your slumber

Thanks all for your kind sharing.
Looks like I need to move into the New Era... no more radios.
Need to use Apps, download, save, stream and all that....
    Video killed the radio stars?
