Actually my neighbours dropped in some sweet treats that were laced with liqueur and I found the taste too nauseating to eat. So there's that :)

Well I had a go at making Baileys Irish Cream today given my wife likes it but made the mistake of using a high powered blender. End result, Bailey’s Irish Cream BUTTER:oops:. Maybe I can use it on pancakes:rolleyes:. Anyhow it resulted in reduced alcohol consumption so hopefully not totally off topic:confused:.

Somehow that doesn’t seem like a good fito_O. Not sure what to do with the Bailey’s butter? Pancakes, Baileys Butter and Strawberries perhaps?

Moral of the story is with me as chief bartender you won’t want to drink anything:oops:. Hence good if wanting to quit drinking:).

Perhaps this is a first world problem. We've been out to dinner a few times in the last week, visiting family. But as a non drinker, the drink selection available is appalling. There might be 20 cocktails, 20 beers, and 40 wines. But non alcoholic - five soft drinks (all Coca Cola brands), plain water and sparkling water. In this day and age, when there's often a designated driver, it's not only a disincentive to dine at that restaurant, it's also a lost opportunity to earn a little more. What about, say, mocktails, alcohol free beer, mixed fruit drinks, light smoothies, sparkling apple juice, and so on.

One of the restaurants was at a winery in the Hunter Valley. While it's understandable it will promote its own wines, it's also a long drive home for the designated driver.

Hope all had a pleasant Christmas Eve and Day.

While a bottle of wine was opened, I had no interest in having any. Good aspect I was under no pressure to imbibe. My guest understands my attitude.

It's odd that after many years of drinking, my interest in alcohol is now zero. It's now highly likely I will no longer drink any.

How are people going on this?

I still don't use alcohol, except as a hand sanitiser. It's probably getting on ten years now, it may become a permanent thing at this rate.

Down to 1 bottle per week, share with partner

I am never going to give it up completely, same as chocolate, as I enjoy.

My view is In moderation …..like everything is OK.

Been a few times over the past few months when i've looked at a 25 years old 1-25litre of Jack Daniels with the tag on the back..'Open when ''CBA'' is above $100-00''-- but never did it's still sitting in the cellar ..

It's been a few years now,and i don't want to go back down that road again ,the first few months were hard then it's gets better, but too be honest it's still in the back of the mind every now and again..

Good Luck to anyone trying .

Zero. Haven't even thought about it. I expect I will not drink alcohol for the rest of my life. I won't say never as there is always a possibility however remote.

To those who are in the process of stopping, reducing or have stopped, keep up that process and good wishes to you.

You have to decide if you have a problem. If you conclude you do then you may need to do something constructive in addressing it.

@SatayKing - speaking of drinking, why does the avatar of a well known coffee aficionado show a tea drinker? Is that because you're a tea totaller?
