    I'm hoping you've got this fixed now, but if not here's my two cents;

    Quote seems reasonable for a 250L unit, bit pricey for a small one. The listed brands are all good, as mentioned above.

    The unit is definitely small for a three bedroom house. If the current unit is old and uneconomical, I strongly recommend a larger unit now.

    Converting to gas is often expensive and uneconomical, even though the gas units themselves are usually cheaper. Get a quote to turn it to gas and see which direction you want to go.

    Thanks @Tom Rivera for your comments. Your suggestions are very helpful.

    I do consider a bigger unit than a 160L unit for 3 bedder house. Based on my research, the quote I have got from PM is relatively high. Will get a couple of quotes for a 250L unit.

    Just realised (and too late to edit) part of that is supposed to read: *old and uneconomical to repair.

    @Tom Rivera Do you know any reliable tradies with reasonable quote that you would recommend for a larger unit, say 250L unit?

    new duo valve = $25
    new PLV = $57
    new slab $30
    pipe and fittings $60
    extras $30
    sparky $165

    Install 4.5 hours include quote $450
    remove existing 1 hour plus tip fees $130

    Add GST

    and your gonna make him wait at least a month for his money

    pony up !
