Qld Seller to get a building certificate from council

    Can I please ask: Any idea why the seller's solicitor would state that the seller has to get straight on to council to get certification that the building was inspected and signed off when it was first built. This was about 30 years ago. Solicitor also stated checking that the plumbing, electricity and drainage was completed. As per quote:

    We advise that you will need to check with Council about a Final Certificate as to whether the building was fully completed and certified and also that the plumbing, drainage and electrical were also completed.

    If a buyer asks it is one less thing to negotiate - 317ae has been issued.
