    Hi Everyone,

Am currently based in Sydney, and was wondering if members here could recommend good buyer's agents for properties in QLD? Specifically properties around Brisbane area if possible?

    Good /Bad experiences?

I value this forum, and hence would be great to hear your thoughts.

    Many thanks

Anyone from the association will generally be okay - although they are all fairly busy. I used Property Zest and very happy with the service.

Give a few of them a call and discuss your needs. Also ask for sample reports.

Be wary of spruikers / investment professionals that may not be fully independent - i.e. Are really just resellers or have marketing arrangements with developers.

Cost depends on the price range you are buying.

If you are looking for a development site then expect to pay a little more as there is more work involved for the BA. In my opinion you should have a good general understanding of the development codes and not completely rely on BA advice. Consider getting a town planner to do a quick assessment for sites you are interested in.

@wombat777 How much for a town planner to do a quick assessment for a site, do you have a rough estimate?

About $300. Some will give an initial assessment over the phone for no charge. For Brisbane and some other parts of QLD, contact @RPI .

Look for a buyers agent that specialises in a few areas rather than the whole of Brisbane, if you are looking for something specific then a good BA will have the knowledge and contacts to find the best deals.
