I wonder how much it would cost for the tenants to go through QCAT to get their (a few hundred dollars) bond back. The bond was withheld because of damages to the property. QCAT is not a free service.

    Sorry, just find this:
    QCAT filing fees
When you lodge an application for QCAT, you will need to pay a filing fee. QCAT filing fees are between $24.60 and $315.70 depending on the amount of money (if any) you are claiming in your application. If you are seeking an order or claiming an amount under $500, the fee is $24.60.

Seems weird that qcat has varying prices depending on how much money you're claiming. Its a set $73 here regardless of what your case or claim is about.

For the record... it's $50 in NSW for claims under 10K and then it goes up from there with a maximum of $260 if the claim is over 30K.

I'd love to know how each State determines these fees!
