    I’d say unless you know someone living with this or with mental illness, it’s easy to judge it or say “just get over it”.

    judgement by headline
    not knowing this mans past history,
    what he witnessed could (?) have tipped him over

    imagine what our front line workers deal with every day. - police, nurses, paramedics,

    i have family in the police force and the ADF.
    not everyone can cope with trauma, you need to be a special breed to deal with it, and even then, it can sneak up on the toughest.

    My Aunty was in a bank when it was robbed. It took many years for her to recover. She did have a gun pointed in her face, so it was very confronting. I could understand why she was traumatised. I'm not sure I've ever seen a gun drawn, let alone witnessed a violent crime.

    Good on the younger generation for being real about mental illness. Many older australians suffer in silence.

    Times are changing on this topic at least.
