    The reason you think there is a match between the profile and your personality is confirmation bias. Myers Briggs is based on the theories of Yung, not science.

    Psychometric specialist Robert Hogan wrote that "Most personality psychologists regard the MBTI as little more than an elaborate Chinese fortune cookie ..."[44]

    Not trying to diminish what @pinkboy is doing though. I think it's terrific! You just jump through the hoops you have to achieve your goals. I have a Masters degree and much of that was nonsense too. If you understand this, it makes life a lot easier. ;) :)

    My mate failed the psychometric testing for police officer. She has a rebellious streak and I don't think she would have been a good fit.

    I know a few people who got to the Police Aptitude tests and failed at that point only

    Recently had a friend get into the SOG but then was failed due to 'associations', tip, don't visit friends who are felons in prison........ever

    Jung certainly has a lot to answer for. He has been extremely influential when others have taken up his studies and moved them into practical 20th Century applications. The 12 Steps also evolved partially from him ... via others.
