Actually on mobile devices it's a browser function rather than OS dependant.

@Simon Hampel has given the instructions for Chrome, and that should work for Chrome on either OS.

If you're using Safari, the "find on page" should be in the "Share" menu.

If you're using something else you will have to ask Dr Google.

    I mentioned this previously.

Instant emails for new posts, or a daily update of new posts,
even if you haven't clicked on the last new posts.

We already have a daily/weekly digest option: https://www.propertychat.com.au/community/account/preferences

Also, you can have the system automatically subscribe you to threads that you post in so you get notified about new posts:

If you'd rather just receive notification about ALL new posts (or even just all new posts in watched threads), that's going to be an awful lot of emails! Not sure that's the way to go.

I'm happy to look into that as an option if you really want it - but I think you'll get flooded with emails pretty quickly - we're averaging 500-600 posts per day site-wide right now.

I use the watched thread option, but I am finding you don't receive subsequent emails unless you view the new posts on propertychat first?

    Correct.

So you'd prefer a watch thread option which sent you copies of all new posts regardless of whether you're online or not? That's more workable and not a bad idea - will add it to the list.

Yes, I would use that. Thanks.

    another suggestion.

In the Service Provider Directory, possible to show the state they service in the title.
similar to what ocau.com.au do on their For Sale section.

Good idea. Next version of the software will let us set up custom fields for threads, which means I'll be able to prompt business members to enter a "Locations serviced" or similar and display that.

Have all threads running in reverse chronological order, so you automatically open to latest post as you do for email chains.

I quite like how it is now - going to the first unread post on a thread.

Unless it's a peculiarity of my phone, many threads don't however do this, rather just open at page 1.

Think email chain conversation. I guess it depends what you're used to.

If you visit infrequently, or if it's a thread you haven't read yet - it will start at the first post.

A thread you have read, but not for some time, will not automatically jump you to the last read post - it resets after a while, but I'm not exactly sure how long. 30 days I think - would have to look it up.

Still being planned - no details yet :D

(partly depends on functionality I'll be adding to the new version of the website)

Sounds exciting for PC to have a facelift, given how much time some of us posters hang around, It's like our 'home' is getting an upgrade :) Any idea when it will all get done?

Still waiting on the software to be ready and stable (beta 8 was released last night). I would expect a stable release before the end of the year.

However, given it's a complete re-write from the ground up, there's a lot of additional work I'll need to do to migrate all of my custom code for integration into the other systems I use (billing, CRM, helpdesk, email delivery, anti-spam, notification systems, newsletter service, chatroom, etc), and redo the design to suite the new platform - so it's going to be a few months yet most likely.
