    PropertyChat turns 5 years old today - where has the time gone? It really doesn't feel like 5 years since we launched this site!

    We now have 868,000 posts - up 25% from this time last year - although we did recently import 48,040 posts from InvestChat - so if we take that into account, we have around 820,000 posts made on PropertyChat which is up 18.5% from this time last year.

    We have 22,697 validated members, including 2,802 imported from InvestChat - of which 370 already had accounts on PropertyChat. So let's call it 20,265 validated members now, up 20% from this time last year.

    Total registrations is at 27,358 including all deleted, banned and inactive users.

    I've been working really hard the last 6 months on trying to get the forum upgrade finished that I've been promising for over 2 years now :rolleyes:

    I set a goal at the beginning of the year to have the site upgraded in time for our 5th birthday - but all the COVID-19 stuff kind of got in the way there, so I've missed that goal. I'm still pushing hard and will aim for the end of this month - but given how much work I still have to (plus all the end of financial year stuff), I fear I might miss that goal too. Either way - I'm actually really close now and starting to get excited about finally finishing this project that's consumed the last 2.5 years of my life!

    I'm not going to stop working on the upgrade to post some stats like I normally would - but once I get the upgrade done, I will come back and post some anniversary stats here.

    Simon, can't praise you enough for taking the massive torch passed on from Somersoft. Congratulations on building further into such a diverse and interesting community - and remarkably free of the trolls one sees in every other corner of the interwebs. Chapeau!

    Awesome forum Simon, it's so easy and user friendly to use, and it's very well moderated, making it a nice place to visit :)

    I feel there's no upgrades to be done in order to make it more user friendly, maybe allowing videos only, but that's a space consideration and people can link to videos anyway stored on another site.

    Totally incredible performance. Invaluable information has been inputted from all and sundry, from all demographics, from all walks. Sure, it hasn’t been easy. Some weeding was necessary to ensure smooth running. Control is always required. We can’t cross the line. No.

    Just a heads up - since I'm running the queries anyway and all it takes is me to change a single variable for each query to do the 5 year vs 6 year anniversary stats, I thought I would take the opportunity to post last year's 5 year anniversary stats at the same time as I post this year's stats.

    Notice the "pandemic / rental eviction moritorium" surge in April 2020 - we saw a huge volume of posts generated in a pretty short period of time.
