Hey do you mob remember when propertychat first started and how those of us who had been on Somersoft for a long time were lamenting the fact that the commercial nature of propertychat was bringing out a different type of engagement and communication approach.
They seem to be less honesty and more spruiking and people seem to have less open agendas
Do you remember there were a lot of debates that were very competitive and people were trying to one up each other and personal attacks and there was real lamentations from the ex Somersoft members that this site had lost the community feeling and general good will to help that Somersoft had.

Do you mob remember those days?

Well I actually think that propertychat has successfully matured beyond that. It seemed there was a real risk at the start of this that it was going to become all a bit soulless however I think the community vibe is slowly developing and I think some of the tensions and the fly by night members with some sort of agenda has mostly gone away.

I feel like the people that post on here now post seriously and honestly and genuinely want to help and have a discussion about property. And people feel that they can post their views without being attacked.
    We made it.

Agree, great forum that has matured. Mostly good self moderation by members and good support by mods when needed. There were some flareups but its mostly gone. Awesome forum, great community. :)

Ps. So much shares talk... I never noticed it on SS. But maybe I was simply not ready for it then.

Yeah, us immature types are slowly losing the battle. Need to step it up with more gifs.

It's a higher vibration now. More positive switched on people.

I feel there are less people who derive pleasure in making others feel bad, because of a disagreement with a view point, and more sane emotionally balanced people who are not so attached to view points.

Negative people can't survive in a positive environment. They either lift their game or leave - either way is perfect. Good job guys (mob)

I think the fact that the Trump thread still exists is testament to the fact that our members are much more well behaved than they have been at times in the past.

It has taken quite a lot of effort on the part of the moderators and there are still occasional disagreements which cross the line, but for the most part people are doing the right thing.

I simply don't dare to open that thread. Works for me. As the saying goes... Ignorance is bliss.

I have honestly not read one post on that thread.

It is currently 129 pages and 2565 posts long.

Should I now start? Did I miss anything?

I am one of the bad guys. I have had posts deleted and been locked out of one thread.

Initially, I thought I was like a child and wanted to test where the posting boundaries were. That is, I was maturing as a PC poster.

Now, I am not so sure. They say one reverts back to acting like a child as one grows old. So, maybe I will be more immature tomorrow than I am today.

Is that all I have to look forward to. Having more posts deleted, being locked out of more threads, ... until finally I am locked out of my PC account :) :).

I agree, I think in the main the Trump thread has been good, I have been enjoying it.

I think the forum has matured, I notice a couple of the old main offenders have parted ways and seems others have significantly calmed down.

    Onwards and upwards.
