Property Tax Consultant/Accountant - Adelide

    Hello, I am new to the site and am in need of some guidance. Can some one please recommend a Property Tax Accountant in Adelaide. I live 10 km outside the City in the South but am prepared to travel for good advice and assistance with my tax return. Much appreciated!

    Do you need face to face advice? If not - you've got the whole country to choose your accountant from. There's some good ones on this forum.

    Hi Jamie

    I think I need face to face advice. My situation is I have two properties one is on a Capital and Interest Mortgage (not an investment mortgage and could be classed as my main abode as I live at my place of work and the house comes with my job)

    When we purchased the property it was in a very poor state of repair so we renovated everything: walls, floor, ceilings, rewired, air con, kitchen, bathroom etc. Once the property was renovated we rented it out for 24 night over the Christmas period as a holiday let. We then put a tenant in for a six months winter let which is now coming to an end. I am unsure what if anything I am able to claim.

    The second property we purchased in March and also required some improvements: new bathroom and kitchen, garden clearing, painting etc. We have not rented this property out as yet, this property in on an Interest only Investment Mortgage.

    Any advice from any one would be gratefully appreciated.

    Ponty, a number of our client's are using NGJ Accounting and Legal - they're based over in Norwood. They can cover not only on the tax side, by legal and structuring of trusts etc if you go down that path in the future for any other investing.
