Tenant has claimed there is mould in both bathrooms. We lived in the townhouse for two years and there were no problems, any other tenants have never had a problem, current tenants have been there for four years with no problems, townhouse is only twelve years old. Asked for air conditioning to be installed upstairs which I did approx. eight months ago, and now mould. Obviously they have all the windows closed too tightly, but is this my problem to clean it off?

How long has this tenant been in property?
If no sign of it previously then definitely tenants problem to resolve (and prevent).

As a general rule, if there is adequate ventilation and no underlying cause (e.g. leaking into the roof) the tenants are responsible for mould build-up. Adequate ventilation generally consists of a window, door and exhaust fan.

Get onto it quickly- mould spores get ingrained into the paint and become impossible to remove.
