We are about as far from world war 3 as at any time in the last 70 years.
The world has never been safer, but some thrive on spreading fear. Just look at Trump tying to hype up the threat of the tiny, useless bunch of insurgent criminals called "isis"

I think you need to tell the good ol' US of A that we aren't in the dark ages--every war they get involved in is always expensive (bit of an understatement) and always highly ineffective (another understatement)

It brings up the story that I read yesterday of a rich parent teaching his son about poverty but the son coming back with an unexpected/deeper understanding.

Linky (hopefully it works - you may need to hit translate).

A World war requires the whole populations of countries to work together to fight.

I can't for the life of me see this happening. I can hear a resounding chorus of...

" You want us to do WHAT??!!!"

Your overlooking the fact that many that make the decisions or are at the top benefit from war activity and the activity to rebuild.

Think if you head up a weapons development or manufacturing business, or you have stakes in these businesses, do you want the weapons to be used so they are replenished and funds to develop further, or are you ok with nothing to do and no income ?

To be frank...I'd be perfectly fine with "nothing to do and no income"--strangely enough that option would see less people being killed.
